Tarja Turunen is a Finnish lyric soprano singer, songwriter, and composer. She is best known as an original member and former lead vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, founded by herself, Tuomas Holopainen, and Emppu Vuorinen in 1996.
