Malmsteen's late '70s and early '80s demos brought him to the attention of Shrapnel Records, who brought him to the United States where he featured briefly in Steeler and Alcatrazz. Since relaunching his solo career, he has released albums alternately as Yngwie Malmsteen, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, and Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force.
