Originally formed as a side project of Thomen Stauch, Savage Circus became his main band when he left Blind Guardian in 2004. Piet Sielck suggested him to contact Jens Carlsson and Emil Norberg from Persuader as their band played in a similar style to the old Blind Guardian sound Stauch was keen to return to.
