Bal-Sagoth's name comes from Robert E. Howard's story entitled The Gods of Bal-Sagoth.
The concept of the band was conceived in 1989 by founder Byron Roberts. It was not until 1993 that a full line-up was assembled, consisting of Alistair MacLatchy and brothers Chris Maudling and Jonny Maudling.
In 2012, all members save for Roberts formed Kull, ...
