Recorded live during 15-17 August 1972 in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.

This 3CD set contains almost three full concerts; the same three gigs that supplied the contents to the classic Made in Japan (1972). "Highway Star", "Child in Time", "Strange Kind of Woman" & "Space Truckin'" from the 16th and "Lazy" from the 17th are the versions which appeared on the original Made in Japan album, but these too have been remixed for this set.

The mising tracks are "Smoke on the Water" from the 15th (released on Made in Japan), "The Mule" from the 17th (released on Made in Japan), "Black Night" from the 16th (Released on Listen, Learn, Read On), "Lucille" from the 16th (released on 1998 2CD edition of Made in Japan), "Black Night", from the 17th (released on 1998 2CD edition of Made in Japan as well on a variety of singles, EPs and compilations) and "Speed King" from 17th (released on 1998 2CD edition of Made in Japan).
