Leak is a Greek band that follows the heavy path formed by two separate metal genres that do have things in common. On one hand, Leak draws influences from the American metal scene, while on the other it has a Swedish metal flavor to its sound.

The demo “L.S.D.” consists of 3 songs. “Face now the day” is straight forward thrash metal song. It is short in duration and it hits the spot just like it should, serving the genre well. Leak is a band that focuses on the mighty riff and this is exactly the highlight of this first song. The riffs are tight and the rest of the band follows the thrash-styled guitar parts. “Living in a hole” is no exception to the aforementioned rule. Thrash is the style here again combined with groove however. This one has a catchy chorus with a nice melodic vocal approach to it. It is modern metal just like it should sound. The last track “L.S.D.” is a huge surprise. This song is more of a groove-oriented mid tempo heavy rocker that will leave you with you with a wide open mouth. The song is slowly built through a melodic verse that leads to a powerful chorus, a very memorable one that you will not easily forget.

The main driver here in “L.S.D.” is the guitar work. It is thrashy and groovy but it also creates a melodic vibe when the need is there. Another great thing that is obvious in every song is the vocal performance of the band’s singer, Dra. His voice comes out strong and adds value to the compositions, creating nice melodic lines that the listener will connect to.

After a couple of listens you get hooked by the demo and there’s nothing really you can do about it. Just listen to the songs over and over again and wonder when Leak is going to produce their first full length attempt.
