What a weird dumb hill to die on... nothing wrong with a cover or whatever once in a while. Especially live... either way it doesn't really matter enough to get mad about it at all.

Watched the first show in full from a good cam at the back and the Frankenstein spot is fine. Bruce doesn't even go backstage to have a nice relaxing dump or anything: he plays percussion and theremin throughout. As he says when a "Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!" chant starts up: "it's not all me, you know!".

A lot of the songs have trade offs on the Roy Z solos between the two guitarists - Chris Declercq (plays left handed, on the album for the Rain on the Graves solo) and Philip Naslund - and the keyboardist Bruce announces as "Mistheria" (Giuseppe Iampieri) who uses a keytar to take some solo parts. Declercq plays the Tears of the Dragon solo by himself though (closer than Dickson used to do after the initial bars), and also Adrian's Road to Hell solo. Would have absolutely no complaints if I attended that show even if I'm still not that enthused about any of The Mandrake Project songs.

They probably just jammed out on Frankenstein during a rehearsal and somebody thought it’d be a fun thing to include in the set. I can’t imagine it goes too deep.

Likewise, I saw the gig in Manchester last night; fucking brilliant, the band’s great and thank fuck he played ‘Jerusalem’ instead of ‘All the Young Dudes’, haha. His setlist tells me he’s holding some hits back for another tour soon. He mentioned going to meet Steve next week, too, which seems like a new Maiden album on the horizon.

God, I want to see him live. Don't think he's coming anywhere near me. Album is still my favorite thing this year so far. I'll probably review it eventually.

Listened to it again last night and this morning. I enjoy it- some excellent moments, Bruce sounds powerful and wails like nobody else can.
