Descriptin Of extreame Metal(Not nu-metal): Listening to extreame metal sometimes dosn't receive the greatest coments from friends and family. If you are an underground metal fan then you will know what I mean. The mogority of people dont understand metal and will always say things such as, The vocals are shit or It sounds like a jumble of noise. A jumble of noise it may sound but only to the untrained ear. Extreame metal contains some of the best musicians around who can play intense and technical guitar riffs/solos and drum beats that will blow your mind. Even the gutteral growls or screams take alot of energy and practice and are not easy to do. I always explain death metal as every instrument and vocals to its most extreame without overdoing it. I first started to appreciate death metal when my brother and his mates started a death metal band. Watching him create riffs and solos made me realise what a difficult style of music it was and how much talent it actually needed. I find that the best time to listen to extreame metal is in the dark with my eyes close. This enables other senses to shut down with only the ears working. People say they hate the lyrics used in death/black metal because of their brutallity, gore or depressivness but why should we shy away from these things when they are part of life. We must stop being brainwashed by T.V and media and become individuals. I never found who I really was untill I started to listen to extreame metal. It opened me up to the world and i no longer feel brainwashed. I hope extreame metal stays underground, that way only the true believers of metal will listen and not those people who only listen to music because its popular. To thoses bands who have sold out you have left your true followers behind.
