I'm a pretty big fan of most styles of metal and its related sub-genres (including metalcore, so go ahead and break out your pitchforks). I have found songs I like from pretty much any metal genre, so I think my tastes are defined more by elements like instrument tone, song composition, and intensity than the genre identification of the musical work. I hope my reviews reflect that.

I play guitar as a hobby, and have begun attempting to write music of my own with a garage band. For a year I hosted a student radio show at my university where I walked through the development of different styles of metal. Other than that, my only credentials are being a long time metal fan.
