The long, boring intro... (you can skip it, by all means)

I've been listening to metal since I was 12 years old, after listening to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. Yep, that's the song that started it all. I've evolved since then. From heavy and power to thrash and melodeath to extreme metal. I now listen to most forms of metal, extreme, kvlt, mainstream, I don't care as long as it's good to me. I do prefer melody and speed in my metal shake, but that ain't mandatory.

I listen to other stuff as well, mostly progressive rock, ol' classic rock and some alternative acts. But I do consider METAL to be my favorite form of music, and a driving force in my life. I'm not a 100% Metalhead, and I definitely don't share the TRVE/KVLT mentality.

I hope my reviews are useful to many fellow metal brothers and sisters out there. I'm no professional reviewer and English is not my mother tongue, but I'll do my best.

I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, and I'm a fan of some excellent metal album covers out there, specially those made by masters Ed Repka, Derek Riggs, Dan Seagrave, Michael Whelan and John Dyer Baizley amongst others. If you want some artwork/logo/design for your band, you're welcome to contact me!

Review rate:

100: PERFECT METALLURGY!!! Get it at any cost!
95: Excellent!! A bit shy of perfection. Highly recommended.
90: High quality metal! Strongly recommended.
85: Pretty good, with minor flaws or issues. Recommended.
80: Solid metal, though could have been better.
75: Still solid, but unspectacular, go ahead if you like band/genre.
70: Average, though you might find something here I don't.
65: Mediocre, a lot of room for improvement.
60: Not recommended, but for a song, riff or tiny something.
55: Almost worthless, barely listenable.
50: Total crap, no saving grace here. Avoid.
45 or less: Seek & Destroy all copies of this insult to metal!

I usually don't consider any album (except St. Anger) should be awarded less than 50. No matter how shitty, awfully recorded or lame an album is, at least someone worked on it and gave a little bit of their time to its creation. I respect that. However, I might change my mind from time to time.
