Full name:
Francisco Adell
Favourite metal genre(s):

My name is Francisco Adell and I am Chilean. I started listening heavy metal in 2001 when I was 19 years old. Before that year I was heavily into punk rock music but always liked the bands that had heavy riffing, good guitar harmonies and blazing speed. The first metal cassette I listened was “Symphony of Enchanted Lands” from the Italian band Rhapsody and at that time I knew that heavy metal was what I was looking for in terms of technicality, melody and power.

For five to six years since that first encounter with metal I listened almost strictly power metal. In fact, I became a power metal freak and I used to download from three to four power metal albums every day. When I had almost 1000 power metal records in my PC a friend talked to me about a band called Children Of Bodom. I listened their “Hatebreeder” CD and fell in love with them. Their mix of power metal with the harsh vocals of the more extreme genres seemed very appealing. Since that day I started to listen a lot of melodic death metal as well.

So melodeath and power metal are now my favorite metal genres, but I also listen some thrash, melodic/progressive black, heavy/traditional, hard rock, metalcore, folk and even some glam.

The genres I can´t stand are brutal death, doom, grind and the more extreme forms of black metal.

My favorite metal bands are: Stratovarius, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Falconer, Dream Evil, Timeless Miracle, Angra, Galneryus, Twilightning, Rhapsody of Fire, Dark Moor, Tierra Santa, Ultimatium, Hammerfall, Labyrinth, Dragonforce, Kiuas, Edguy, Avantasia, At Vance, Rage, Soilwork, Children of Bodom, Norther, Throne of Chaos, Ensiferum, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Imperanon, Edge of Sanity and many others.

My favorite NON metal artists are: Craig´s Brother, NOFX, Bad Religion, MxPx, Millencolin, Teen Idols, Satanic Surfers, No Fun At All, Adhesive, Mute, Goldfinger, The Vandals, Blink 182, Strung Out, Los Mox!, Nicotine, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, Weezer, Hi-Standard, Foo Fighters, A-Ha, ABBA, Europe, Pet Shop Boys, Guns n’ Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Bon Jovi and Elton John.
