I like just about anything with a strong ethnic flavor to it... Nordic, Celtic, Slavic.. You name it.
I studied music for a number of years in the areas of music theory, which included arranging and some composing, in college. I also studied the physics of sound, including psychoacoustics, which is the fascinating study of how the brain receives and interprets sound waves. In addition to this I've also had twenty years' experience as a vocalist, in choirs, quartets and as a soloist. It would be appropriate to say that my life revolves around music.
Currently I'm helping a friend build a database of Metal cover tunes - songs covered by metal bands, or, metal songs covered by whomever. Two different databases actually. We have over 600 entries in the former.
