I'm just a goofy guy trying to find his place in the world. I'm a Christian musician, and I've played in a couple metal bands (never really went anywhere) as well as on a few worship teams. I'm a percussionist and I fool around a little bit with keyboards and harsh metal vocals, so most of my reviews will be written from that point of view (and that's one of the main reasons I actually enjoy some metalcore and deathcore, since the drummers for those bands tend to at least know how to play well, even if they overplay).

My favorite genres of metal are power and melodeath, though I also listen to pretty much anything from some nu-metal bands (very few) right up to some black metal bands (from Anorexia Nervosa to Immortal to the occasional Burzum... and beyond!), though I typically don't listen to death metal (symphonic tech death has been one exception, and I am a big fan of Fleshgod Apocalypse).

My favorite band is Iron Maiden, and I am lucky to have seen them twice (well, the second show will be in September, so... once for now) in concert. My second favorite band used to be As I Lay Dying, but, given Tim Lambesis' current court issue, I've been wary of any music involving him... and Theocracy is my third favorite band.

In my spare time, I'm usually found playing video games and listening to whatever heavy metal I'm in the mood for, whether it be Disturbed, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Devin Townsend, Dream Evil, or whatever else comes across my mind at the point. I'm pretty open when it comes to heavy metal, so that can be expected in my reviews. I will not be reviewing CDs that I feel are terrible. You'll probably find me doing a lot of reviews on bands that don't have many reviews... the underdogs need some love too, right?
