American death metallers Vivisect have their debut EP ready to be unleashed, following on from a single demo, this should be some rancid material.

Sci-fi style synths set out with eerie sounds that definitely precede the death metal barbarity nicely. Pounding drums and odious riffs drive out a bass-heavy and rupturing blend of death metal with filthy vocals and a murky production. Conjuring visions of putridity, Vivisect have a really tight and savage sound which chugs through charnel layers of dense and brooding brutality. This cavernous and aggressive display is certainly a brilliant one.

Ravenously forceful and crushingly heavy, Vivisect have a monstrous sound with enough dynamic to keep things unpredictable while giving a consistency akin to Floridian death metal. Punishing heaviness and primal brutism conveys the gory assault with a blunt force impact packed with killer hooks. The soloing is exactly the right style with plenty of whammy abuse and melody breaking through a devastating rhythm section.

A frantically aggressive and magnificently heavy couple of tracks from Vivisect. Old school death metal fans with a penchant for the Florida scene will certainly adore this slab of gruesomeness. Destructively hammering death metal is the name of the game and Vivisect definitely have that to offer and more. Certainly a worthwhile little tape of monstrosities.
