Violent Night - Snowÿt Demo

Brilliant start for a brilliant metal band. - 80%

PowerMetalGuardian, April 24th, 2004

I've been anticipating the release of the second Snowyt demo, seeing as how I was to slow and could not get my hands on the first demo. This band has what it takes to become one of the top metal bands. You really can't compare these guys to anyother sound because they kind of created a new sound.

Six Foot- Has a cool intro that reminds me of early thrash bands. Which is followed by a pretty cool riff and a lot of finger action. This song keeps a moderate pace throughout the song, followed by an occasional drum fill. Solo shows how these guys have made thrash and 80's metal into there sound. A lot of pinch harmonics and all out band your head style of music.

Killing Spree- Me thinks Ted Nugent would be really proud of this song, with the dive bomb in the beginning of the song and all. Stown's vocals are best showed on this song; starting out with a moderate low toned chorus followed by a screaming Killing SPREE. Jesse Stown shines on this song with a brilliant double bass beat in the beginning of the song foolowed by Erik's thundering bass slaps. There is a little high end on this song, but overall its not bad.

Tightrope- A rather long song, but probably the best one on this album. You want to know what Snowyt sounds like; this song shows the heavy beat and fast riffs that is like most thrash bands. Stown's voice also best fits Dave Mustaine's voice on this song, and most Snowyt songs. This song also shows the diversity in the song structure, at about two minutes in the song, the beat changes into a more Madien like sound, and then follows with brilliant backing vocals from Wayne and Erik.

Overall this demo is pretty good. Some bad sounds once in awhile, but what can you expect from a home made product like this? If Snowyt releases more albums like this in the future, then expect Snowyt to go far in the metal scene.
