Violent Night's Pain single was the last recording that the band made before they broke up. It is also the first, and supposedly last, recording to feature Wayne Holocaust in his new position as singer and front man of the band.
"Pain is the reason we're here," quote the lyrics, an amazingly true depiction of life. While the lyrics kick ass, so do the guitar riffs. With that delicate blend of thrash metal mixed with a hint of progressive metal, it makes the song unique in its own right. B. Lial once again offers face melting solos and some of the best guitar work done in this decade. Pain quickly became one of the fans favorites, it was a shame they broke up shortly after this release.
The Light the Dynamite Remix is a spectacular spin off of the original. The beginning of the song offers an almost comedic portrayal of the band drinking in a bar room. There is mention of a bar brawl and in the back round you can here the bands song Impaler, a classic that only appears on the future Best Of album, Thrashed to Death. The song then breaks in offering a new recording of the song. Nothing is changed in the song; however, the solos and riffs seem more tighter and the song is played in a faster tempo then previously recorded. Wayne also brings his more distinct vocal sound, which was not present in the past when he was only playing rhythm guitar.
The single was produced by the band and copies of the actual single are rare. However, both songs are featured on the music section of the bands's myspace page. Till this day, Pain and the Light the Dynamite remain fan favorites!
