Vindicator - South Amherst Thrash and Rehearsal Demo

We can only hope for more thrashing and destroying - 95%

Totenkopf, March 14th, 2008

If you're looking for a band that recaptures the spirit of classic 80s thrash metal, than look no further. Vindicator come ripping out of the midwest with a killer demo filled with ripping old school thrash songs. While the plethora of influences is obvious, they don't try to sound like any one band... they have developed a unique and easily identifiable sound, while keeping an old school sound.

You can't ask for much more... fast, heavy riffs, unrelenting, pounding drums, vicious, shrieking vocals, all brought together into pummeling thrash metal songs that also include catchy hooks and sing-along choruses.

The first four tracks come from Vindicator's 2006 "South Amherst Thrash" demo. This is a great sampling of Vindicator's sound... these four tracks are instant classics. The last track is a rehearsal demo from 2005. it is just a live recording of a practice, so it has a very raw, live feel, but the quality of the songs are not affected at all. The 20-or-so minutes of ripping old school thrash from these dudes does not disappoint, especially the cover of Venom's classic song "Bloodlust".

I recently learned that they have ended their nearly two year hiatus, and are returning full force. I am really looking forward to what these guys will do in the future.
