Thrash and Destroy! - 85%

Scissors, January 28th, 2006

Vindicator are aiming to bring back the old-school Kreator, Sodom, etc., sound, and they're doing a damn good job at it! The demo is a rehearsal recording, raw as fuck, recorded on an iPod! If you are one who values production quality, this is surely not for you. But if you can see past the production to the awesome music within, you're in for a real treat! The music kicks in with some pick sliding, and after that it's nonstop til the very end. It sounds as though they played through all four songs without a break, keeping the songs flowing from one to the next. The riffs are nothing but pure thrash, but they still manage to hold a very distinct sound, rather than sounding like a re-hash of every thrash band before them. The vocals are a high-pitched scream, with an agonized tone to it, somewhat reminiscent of older Burzum, but not quite as harsh. The drums are your typical thrash drumming, which is to be expected, and keep the songs moving right along at a speedy pace. I recommend this to anyone with a love for thrash metal, especially those who prefer harsh vocals. Fans of Kreator, early Bathory, Sodom, Destruction, Toxic Holocaust, Sauron, and like bands will definitely enjoy this piece of metal. I look forward to future releases by this band.
