Valar - The Arrival of the Dragonlord

Think of it as a more ambient version of Summoning - 35%

PainMiseryDeath, June 2nd, 2004

A rip off of Summoning or just highly influenced by both Summoning and J.R.R. Tolkien, Valar has no guitars, infrequent drumming, and uses mainly clean vocals. Nowhere near the fury of the mighty Summoning, The Arrival of the Dragonlord is rather ambient, but still puts forth a dark or 'evil' atmosphere. It is mildly interesting, with a few screechy wishpered type of vocals in some spots, but it really does nothing for me, aside from giving me the feeling that I need to stop listening to it, and put on some Summoning. Maybe you want to hear for yourself, go ahead, but it probably won't do anything for you unless you are into the more ambient side of things.
