Unscared - Mosh Attack

Fuck all the ballads! - 75%

Warfare, September 25th, 2007

Another young German thrash metal band formed by beer drinking barely adult maniacs. I just love the enthusiasm and fuck off attitude of all those hordes, for example Delirium Tremens, Fatal Embrace, Ketzer, Nuclear Warfare... and now UnscareD.

Obviously they're not among the best in this genre, but just damn solid and fun to listen to!!! What to expect: Riffs, Riffs and again, Riffs! Nothing special, nothing innovative, just fast and aggressive shredding. There's a clear hardcore-punk/ 80ies crossover influence here, doesn't matter if intended or not. S.O.D., M.O.D., but also Anthrax, Overkill and, concerning the beer'n fun context, Tankard, are doubtless the ingredients to mix the UnscareD - Cocktail. The drums sound a bit artificial, especially the snare is too loud and tinny (you'll recognize this certainly in the beginning of "Proud to be your enemy), but there's a picture of the drummer in the booklet so I'm in favor to believe he's real. Most of the material is pretty fast and simple, riffs are composed just for one goal: To make you mosh! I think, the title track makes this quite clear. So technical masterpieces are neither present nor meant to be. But everything is well played, precise and audible. Don't ask for outstanding songs, in the end, they all sound exactly the same so it depends on you which of this thrashing monsters you prefer. In my humble opinion, the first track is the most catchiest. Even the Metallica cover "Hit the lights" sounds like an UnscareD Song, well done!

A good, not overwhelming piece of old school thrash metal with a lot of fun, thirst and energy in it. Nothing to listen to every day, but it's worth shouting along while annihilating alcohol with your fellows and I think, that's everything UnscareD ever wanted. Recomended!
