AgathoReview #3 - For Whose Advantage? - 55%

Both short sides are a pure mishmash of powerviolence and the most rapid raw punk existent.

This side is bad played as hell, I believe this is on purpose, (or not?) I mean, is like they are not making any effort on play this decent, the quality of every instrument putted together is crust at best, guitars and bass sounding are lower than the drums, the bass is not that distorted at all, even it manages to sounds like a clean bass, the drums are overdriven everything. We can even appreciate how there seem to be erroneously implemented notes; it is as if the drums were often heard to err on time and continue for a few milliseconds out of time too but managing to get back to the riffs, the same happens with the vocals.

In guitars, this thing is more difficult to catch when this happens since this is the first instrument par excellence of punk, crust/noise bands, that is to say, you have to be too fucking depraved to make a punk song sound bad.

Drumming is quite simple here, D-beats to only non-stopping blast beats, no mid-terms, it got almost no variation of cymbals and how they are played, do not expect nothing else from it; vocals are low pitches screams with some deep growling here and there but nonentity more.

Unholy Grave’s side has an obscure, drenched mixing, the vocals are overdriving everything, and each single time Takaho shout the rest of the band is vanished from the record, is as if they lost the sound since the voice is saturating all the possible audio outputs that the rest of the instruments could have. He also seems to sing wearing a gas mask, they are bizarre to listen to, just angry screaming and off-key singing and some deep growls implemented.

Guitars are just punky power chords, the bass are really audible, gross, makes the exact riffs that the guitars do, drums got a nice d-beat right there and some blast beats with good drum and cymbals sounding, but the release is entirely the same, nothing new or astonishing, not even close to metal but very close to the /in/-famous “noise”.

Not much more to say; even I cannot take any single release from these people bad yet whatsoever, I still think that they can do whatever they want and I will probably like it, if you want to listen to some angry noisy violent punk with nice lyrics, just take a sit and enjoy.

“No pain, no gain, what our mighty system tells, just pain, no gain, the only think I have felt”
