I was searching for some symphonic metal one day, and I came across some music that was more than satisfying for the day. That music is Thulnar. I thought it was brilliant the way Al Walker created this music with vocals like Elrics. It inspired me from then on and up to now enough to create my own music project which I hope will make the metal archives list some day.
I love how these songs have classical elements with metal drum beats and of course the vocals. The song "A Prayer to the Starlords" comes with a great atmosphere and has great use of the scales. Good symphonic tone leaving you craving for another world to live in. I love the lyrics, especially parts like "and neither angels from high above could forgive the aweful choice I made... 'cause between right and wrong, I chose love". I also very much love the lyrics to the song Glacial Heart. The tune for that song is great, even if it was repeated a lot, Thulnar really pulled it off.
I can say that Thulnar has become important to my life, for being the one inspiring me to become a professional musician to play some metal music. Now Thulnar is better than before, having released the album "The End of Blissful Days". If you like symphonic metal, you really ought to keep watching Thulnar stir up some great stuff.
