Stalker is a new band taking a stab at the revitalized speed metal craze, with it comes this demo “Satanic Panic.” The New Zealand based metallers leave quite the impression with this short offering, leaving me wanting more since first listen. Opening with the title track "Satanic Panic" you know what you’re in for right away. The three piece begins with blazing fortitude and never ceases the attack, beginning with a catchy riff, beating drums and thumping bass. Just brings a big smile to your face doesn’t it?

All three tracks here bring the speed metal goodness. “The Mutilator” has a really awesome opening, with the bass taking the show. Daif’s mean and powerful vocals compliment the sound perfectly. As the song treks on you’ll notice just how much potential these guys have in the genre and what impact they could leave.

The gem on this demo however is "Shocked to Death." Straight forward and kick ass for the entire two minutes and forty five seconds. The fury this song unleashes makes me want to mosh in my living room with my couch and tv.

Sure, is this band reinventing the wheel? Of course not. Is it really that different from any other band in the genre? No. But fans of this style will surely enjoy it. For a demo it’s great. Right now it’s available on Stalker’s Bandcamp page for a free download, so you have no excuse. Go check it out now!
