Take 36 minutes and listen to this. - 74%

Melodic death metal...Sweden...still with me? Yes, Source perhaps seem to sound a little like (insert any Gothenburg band name here), but for me that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The vocals are well done, they seem to be just a tad bit standard. However, Source relies on songwriting to set them apart from being just another clone. Crunching rifs, well placed lead melodies, and a large amount of aggression make this album an enjoyable listen. The drumwork is well placed and the production is well done as well. There is only one part of one song I dont enjoy. On the song Angel Dust, about halfway through, it slows down a lot and nothing really happens, and there are a couple of lines that are just spoken, and it does not really seem to fit in with the song, but that only lasts for a few moments, and the rest of the 36 minutes (too bad it wasnt a bit longer) are a worthwhile listen. So take the time and investigate this album, I would certainly recommend it...that is of course, if you are into melodic death metal.
