Sonic Poison - Harsh Demonstration...

Demon Stration - 70%

Sweetie, February 16th, 2020

Sonic Poison are a deathgrind band hailing from Finland, with an obvious goal of filling your ears with total filth. Harsh Demonstration is a fitting title, as it's about nine minutes of blitzing riffs that hold a lot of echo and noisy reverberations. Solos are slowly added from time to time. The tops of them are chopped down due to the roughness of the rhythms, and the vocals cast a similar effect. "Miserable Death" is a fun one, morphing that into a slammier trudge for the outro. Weirdly enough, Possessed comes to mind during the death metal focused moments, thanks to the gruntiness of the vocals falling into the harsh mix.

"No Time" is a standout with how quick it is, meanwhile injecting a scream of terror at the end. "Hoarders Of Annihilation" is also kinda cool, being one of the bass heavy tunes. The only issue here is the fades that surround a lot of the songs. This would work fantastically as something where all of the pieces fold together nicely, but instead you get a transition that briefly ruins the mood. That's nit-picky, though. It's nine fucking minutes, so drag your tongue across the sugar cube and keep on moving.
