Symphonic black metallers Sinful released their first EP Vtoroe rozhdenie, containing only 3 tracks in approx 13 min of blasting music. These guys from Moscow, fulfilled their fans' desire with a majestic vampiric sound supported by unique and evil vocals, a good continuation of their first album Omyt. The production here is quite good, all instruments are well mixed and everything can be heard clearly, there is nothing to complain about relating to this subject.

The musicianship in this release is marked by a consistent mid-paced symphonic black metal style and rhythm. The first track, Dominatum, is simply the highlight of this EP. It starts off with majestic intro enchained by great double bass drumming and nice percussion. Then there are simple guitar riffs throughout the song that gave solid structure to the music. Taus, the main vocalist, comes up with unique vocals, as they range from spooky growls to devilish shrieks. The keyboards are the icing on the cake here, they adjust that evil sound and add great melodies and atmosphere that'll hook you up.

In the follow up song Parazit, the impressive keyboards work continues to dig in, they keep the same pace feeding the song with this horror-like atmosphere. Simultaneously, horrifying vocals appear again, doing great back to back job with the other players, and drums blast in occasionally, supported by interesting guitar melodies. This song have its acoustic moment, it breaks nicely the continuing brutal sound.

The title track, Vtoroe rozhdenie, is relatively the fastest song in this mid-paced mini album. The vocals keep the same momentum accompanied with some fast guitar riffs and irregular blast beats. The keyboards' role in this song was less prominent, but they were there in the background, adding the usual grim feel and dark atmosphere.

All in all, Vtoroe rozhdenie is a solid black metal release. These guys are skilled enough and their music is at least original. Honestly, it makes up for the new sympho black metal clowns, who try to shove their ass in the genre by overdone make-up, fake sound and unnecessary female presence. I recommend this stuff to the fans of symphonic black and black metal in general. Try to give this a try, especially if you are fond of the rare mid-paced black metal music.
