Time for a double dose of Brazilian underground death metal from Sepulchral Whore and Podridao.

Podridão set things off with maniacally brutal and savage riffing and hammered drums that fire forth a spew of relentless death metal. The vicious instrumentals and met with monstrous growls, an overall soundscape of more dark and eerie death metal is definitely the mainstay here with a ruthless and pungent performance of truly morbid brilliance. A crushing, filthy and barbaric couple of tracks on the Podridão side. Some really macabre and gnarly material for certain. Both songs delve into a hellish, almost blackened level of ritualistic, doomy death metal with tons of atmosphere and just an excellent songwriting style utilised to the maximum ability of these maniacs.

Sepulchral Whore hammers in with a more visceral and aggressive blend of loud, bombastic drums, gritty, thundering bass and ferocious riffs. The nasty howls of the vocalist complete the devastatingly intense assault of violently dreary and cavernously glorious death metal, certainly a complementary band to the dark antics of Podridão. Convulsive, eerie and haunting, the ambience of this material is certainly memorable alone, even more so when met with the crushing musicianship these guys have to offer. Certainly a superb couple of festering songs from another underground hidden gem.

This split features a really exciting onslaught of more cavernous, doomy and ritualistic death metal. Both bands complement each other well with an enticing, mesmerising and grandiose atmospheric skilfulness to their rotten death metal brutality. In these four tracks we definitely see some phenomenal underground cuts from Brazil’s death metal underground that fans of bands like Grave Miasma, Dead Congregation and the like will not want to miss.
