Silly humor about feces and urine? Check. Other lurid imagery of obscenity? Check. This, and add some grinding metal into the mix, like goregrind with a little laid back rock feel to it, and you have Septicopyemia. A happy troupe of Russians making what? Standard stuff we have already heard. But is it boring, far from it. In fact, Vomiting Swamps is fast ride just shy of twenty seven minutes, packed with almost only brutality.
The music in general, well, the vocals, are actually very varied, with a lot of growling, shouting, grunting, and what can be suspected to be vocals with a pitch-shifter. All in all, these are fairly enjoyable. As for the bass guitar, it is all over the place, playing frenzied tunes that really gnaw themselves onto the bark of your brain. The same goes for the drumming, with a lot use of rhythms that alternate each other, as well as some straight forward pounding. As for the guitars, they are both agile and more slow to the feel, nothing that interesting, but not in particular, bad. So, overall the instrumentation is very enjoyable.
The production and mixing is actually very good, leaving everything audible and clean, but still raw. Which itself, can be a rarity these days. The songwriting as well, is very good. It sure does suffer from boring moments and some repetition, but can be forgiven due to some very catchy moments. There are also the use of samples, which does not add much to the music, but rather help create a more laid back and not too serious atmosphere. They can be a little bothersome. As for the musicians themselves, they have great chemistry.
Overall, Vomiting Swamps is pretty good. It has no real solid negatives, but still just feel very unrealized perhaps. But for what it is, it is good.
Stand-out tracks: Vomiting Swamp, Sperm is your God?!, Necrotization the Extremities.
