52 minutes of anachronistic death/thrash materials that’s filled with a burst of aggression from each of the ten tracks of the full-length offering that I am discussing at the moment; that is what Seizure had put together to shape their debut full-length “Convulsive Perseverance.”

For those extreme music enthusiasts who have yet to hear the band, they are a Filipino extreme metal group hailing from Bulacan, Philippines, and they play one of the most ferocious thrash metal imbued with that primitive rage of early death metal music in the country. Man, the stuff that you will hear in this record is fierce and filthy, with the tunes having razor-sharp riffages (along with numerous shredding solo moments) that cut through the whole album like an intense laser beam cutting through a 115 GPa hard diamond.

The whole thing bids up sufficient wild thrashing rhythms in frenzied and manic patterns, but at the same time it offers a number of contained and melodic tempos that explode in energetic outbursts after portions of placid recline between these sections. And then there’s the fiery and combustible drum work that accolades the guitars and bass departments fittingly, before the whole was iced with some pissed off raspy shouts from the vocal section to finish off this utterly forthright offering.

Given all those fevered and storm-tossed elements mentioned above, there is a whole lot of grim thrash/death metal essentials that are on display in here, and it was most certainly given a boost by the ample production work. The album is noteworthy for establishing a balance between the chaos and occasions of straightforwardness in addition to its sheer aggression. By combining deliberate transitions with unrelenting speed, Seizure was able to craft a piece that manages to hook their listeners instantly, even in just their first spin of the record.

Look, “Convulsive Perseverance” should, beyond any doubt, satisfy aficionados of extreme metal music that carries the lineage of brutal thrash and early death metal. Go hunt down a copy and give it a spin if you liked what you read above, because I can assure you that this is worth adding to your collection rack.
