This is a pretty cool little EP, and an intresting start for these guys. This is not the thrash/black metal they'd later be known for. The production isn't bad. The vocals would become a lot more evil later. They are really more melodic and not raspy like they'd be later.
"Black Fire" is a pretty average speed metal song. The chorus is kind of forced, but the riffs make up for it. It kind of goes on for a bit too long though. It's still a cool song though. It sounds like a lost NWOBHM song that Saxon never used or something. While "Mion's Hill" is an awesome song. Some of the riffs remind me of Mercyful Fate's "Melissa". The soloing in this song is awesome as well. This song is just generally more energetic than "Black Fire". Very catchy.
This is a cool little EP. If you like Sabbat or NWOBHM don't hesitate to check this out. They'd get a lot more brutal after this one, but this is a great melodic beginning for them. RECOMMENDED
