Rupture Christ - Molesting the Entrails of the Disemboweled

Death Metal on a Library Card - 70%

Immune_to_Poison, October 6th, 2010

This is brutal death metal. Nothing more, nothing le... well, maybe a little less sometimes. Rupture Christ does nothing different or with enough extraordinary skill to stand out in the crowd, but they're not bad either. After an intro that I'll probably never listen to again in my life, "Fetus Fucker" graces us with its presence. All I can say is, if "Death Metal 101", "You Too Can Play Death Metal!" and "Brutal Death Metal For Dummies" are overdue from their local library, I'd have a pretty good idea about who'll be handing the librarian a nickel with a sarcastic look of shame on his face. That being said, the music's pretty decent. It's all the same stop-go, tremelo to slam'n'back, guttural to shriek bullshit I'm used to, but I like it. Some of the riffs are quite catchy, actually.

What they really need is a dictionary, because their lyrics are possibly amongst the worst I've ever seen. I think you'll agree with me when I say that these lyrics, from "Cum Ready Cock", speak aloud their own idiocy.

This massive boner will not go down
Until I flow my stream of yogurt onto the ground
Grab my pole and give it two jerks
I'm not going to stop until the purple head squirts
Now driving full force
As I head to the pasture to fuck me a horse
Sooner or later this cock will erupt
As I head for the pond to get me some duck

What... the serious fuck. Those aren't even a lowpoint or anything, that's literally what the words to every song are like. And oh my lord, the subject matter is a joke. "Discharging Parasite Infested Feces" is, no exaggeration, an entire song about a guy bending over and describing everything that comes out of his asshole in detail. Yeah, Stephen King, bow the fuck down to the new masters of horror. Honestly though, they do use some hilarious samples. "Pus Filled Pussy" features a sound byte of Max Hardcore, the guy that practically *invented* the anal gape, fucking some chick in the ass. She, uh, clearly loves it. Macaroni and Afterbirth starts with George Carlin ranting about how hilarious he thinks rape is. What can I say, they fit the music.

There is a highlight, actually. "Invading the Placenta" is a pretty awesome song, complete with numerous tempo changes, ravenous vocals and, of course, a great Pinhead quote. This song has an unorthodox structure, which naturally makes it more interesting than the rest of the album's rather prototypical stylings. These guys really are all talented musicians, but their songwriting isn't up to par with their technical abilities. I have no problems with the production. It's a bit of an acquired taste, having kind of a static-like sound, like white noise. It reminds me more of black metal, but I find it rather interesting used with death metal. Eh... overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend Molesting the Entrails of the Disembowled, but it really ain't too shabby.
