Omen of Tragedy

Revenance present with their 2006 release a mixture of Iniquity, Devourment and Sepsism, not being the typical Brutal Death Metal band, adding different influences into their dark and doom-like BDM. They are masters of slow grinding and abrupt tempo changes. but you can sense some melodic influence in their music too, so it doesn't become boring and monotonous listening to them. I am pretty surprised by this band, not having expected to hear such melodies of universal malice. I already mentioned they remind me of Iniquity, oneof my fav bands, and that's great, because now when almost every new band is in the hyper-warp speed Brutal Death Metal, Revenance come with this spine-breaking music, that has to be liked. Else you are a fukking moron. In every song they slow down, almost to 20 kbps, keep the speed and then comes a lead riff that kills your ears, and then it starts to rip off your limbs and skin. This is really a great discovery for me, and I will keep listening to them, as they have some special flair to their music. They have the ultra low vocals, maybe processored, maybe a natural mutation of the vocalist's vocal chords, but in any case he just rips! And unlike most brutal Death Metal bands, revenance serve you some crazy and well played solos, and some accoustic parts, which make the release even more attractive. While Iniquity has called it quits several years ago with releases, soon we can expect another record, but I am not sure if the new one will please my expectations. Until then, I will listen to Revenace and enjoy these songs that break your mind and chime along the waves of radiation in outer space. Another great Permeated Records release.
