I haven't heard many bands from Belgium, specially metalcore/melodeath bands. While the album's name gives you an idea of what this might be about I'm glad to hear more hate from a metalcore band and not only love-and-pain-and-loss themes.

The first song isn't exactly a great opening but it takes you slower into their sound. Its just an amazing display of hate. Guitars work somehow reminds me to a Caliban/Heaven Shall Burn split but better than both combined. Typical structures with extremely good breakdowns is something you will notice in each song.

Bart Teetaert voice sounds almost fake, I don't know if he sings like that or he was sick during the recording but it sounds a little bir forced almost like if he couldn't scream higher. But gladly he doesn't do this annoying singing-like-a-bird most metalcore bands have and he tries to reach a more melothrashdeath style.

Drums never stop! And I'm sure this is one of Rafflesia's best features. By the time you hear Preludium you'll be tired of headbanging but you won't want to stop. So the next half of the album takes off with Into Bloodshed (be sure to check drumming at 2:42). After this song everything will begin to sound almost like the first half and breakdowns will start to appear every fucking minute...

Even though they are more into the underground metalcore scene this guys bring nothing new to it. It just remains with the same sound as many others. As I said before: no matter what, metalcore will always be metalcore
