What do we have here, the oldest demo of RAVAGE (aka Atheist). This is, as far is I know, a very rare demo. You won't find it unless you know someone who has it and is willing to share it (best shot is to ask it on the official Atheist forum).
The style of this music leans more to death metal than to their later music, which is more technical/progressive. The demo starts with a dark speech which you can highly understand, followed by some pure death metal music. At some parts you'll recognise Atheist's playing and approaches to the music. You can't really speak of rythm changes although there are some interesting parts. In ''Brain Damage'' the riff that comes after the first solo for example. "Hades Decree" is also a good example of what is yet to come in the next years. At 00:40 you can actually hear a part that could well fit into the Piece Of Time -era.
Overall this demo is definitely worth checking out for the fans of Atheist and any other death metal fan. The production is very good for such an old demo. You can seperate every instrument easily, which is a plus. I wish you all good luck in finding this piece of history.
