Three songs, that's right only three and I rate this thing a 9/10. Why? The material on here is absolutely insane, everything you wanted out of a deathcore and slam hybrid is in these songs. Quality over quantity is what you're looking at here. The riffs absolutely blow you away. Not one moment is wasted not completely assuring you that your head is fucking rattled. The percussion is amazing; the snare tone is flawless and the double bass smashes in with everything else for the drum register. The production that glues all these together doesn't spend one moment making sure it's not in your face either. Everything just feels right.
Vocalist Sergey sits atop the entire barbaric audial assault. His groaning inhaled guttural vocals front the entire performance. While he does sound like he's exhaling on this release, I was able to watch a studio video of the band recording a track off this release where videos of him growling were isolated and I can confirm the vocals are inhales. Not at all bad for a inhale performance. I say this in every brutal band I review that has an inhale vocalist; I really don't care anymore if the vocals are inhaled which is in-contrast to the prejudice feelings I had for the vocal style before. The inhales on this release absolutely kill and I don't think he'd be able to fit-up with the sound on this release if he was exhaling as well as he executes it here anyway.
My only complaint in this promo lies solely on one minor production error for the drums. The cymbals are a tad too quiet on the first two tracks; sometimes non-existent. Not that it really matters, unless you're a prodigy drummer you probably won't notice. But it doesn't change my mind at all on how I believe that this release is probably some of the best deathcore/slam hybridization that can be possibly found. The band is a little more deathcore than slam, with some riffs even reminiscent of Suicide Silence, but don't let this scare you away. The band's slam moments make up for their deathcore tendency (if you by any chance despise that genre). I in no way hate deathcore, I'm a huge fan of the genre and slam and this release mashes the best of both worlds together into some barbaric badass three-track piece of awesome.
Whether it's the slam at the end of "Chaotic Autopsy", the whisper of the words "rotting..." during a break in the same song or ultra-fast brutal outro to "Mentally Retarded Whore", I can almost assure you that if you're a fan of anything brutal, you will find something memorable on here. I surely hope Purefilth come up with a full-length soon, just thinking about it gives me chills.
Man, this is some great stuff.
