Short, simple, and great.
By the time this demo tape came out, Posguerra was a relatively known band inside the Colombian underground scene, but after this they moved on into a hardcore/industrial style, which led to some rejection. Except for the last track and the intro, all of these songs have been reprised on further releases without that raw thrash/death style and the simplicity that gained them recognition.
The music here is a mix of death, thrash and, some hardcore, but mainly the first two. Wilfer’s voice is not the best thing, but it totally fixes the music. Fast riffs, easy bass lines, simple but astonishing percussion work, and a voice that dwells between torn and guttural combine for a memorable release. Lyrics deal with criticism of politics (Crápulas del Poder), but mainly with environmental/ecologist thoughts as its title suggests. There’s even poetry in the booklet called Madre Tierra (Mother Earth), written by the vocalist.
The production overall is excellent despite the fact that it was recorded in only two days and published by an independent label (the now-defunct Alcoholic Records). All of the instruments sound clear and loud and there are no flaws of any kind. Mi Menor (E minor) is clear proof that these guys were not just about noise and speed, but were also good musicians and it’s a great way to close the demo. Great!
