This new release of Hungary's first Heavy Metal band comes after a period of decline for metallic music. Nevertheless this difficult period couldn't demolish Hungarian metal, Pokolgép (among the greatest Hungarian metal bands) has shown their abilities of surviving. This release contains 11 tracks and it is considered by some as being the heaviest Pokolgép album ever. However it certainly contains several speedy and heavy tracks (as for example the title-track or the first song (The Song of the Wolves)), but it also emphasizes on melody and feelings. I think the most interesting of all the songs should be tha fifth one, a heavier ballad written in memory of the band leader Kukovecz Gábor's deceased father. It contains several very sensitive classical keyboard elements (inspired by J.S.Bach), rarely heard in Pokolgép songs. Another interesting fact worth of noticing: the vocals of this song belong to lead guitarist Kukovecz Gábor, instead of official vocalist Rudán Joe... Quite understandable, but still unusual... The last track also brings several new sounds in hungarian Heavy Metal, containing at the end fragments of a Hungarian folk song, ingeniously inserted among the heavy riffs...
The last thing I would like to write about is the very first song that is none other then a melodized version of a poem by the great Hungarian poet Petôfi Sándor...Of course the album contains several other tracks too, among which one semi-acoustic ballad and a real Rock'n'Roll hymn.
The conclusion would be that this album is a real Pokolgép masterpiece with a bit heavier sound than the previous ones, but still sentimental enough. It really proves that Pokolgép (Hell-machine/Timebomb) is a real survivor...
