Live in the Devil's Triangle

I'm a fan of pissing razors and I enjoy all their cds, so I bought this cd without hesitation. Now I'm pissed off that I blew $20 on this, when that money could have gone to a different cd I need.

What makes this cd so bad you ask? Well 95% of whats wrong with this cd falls on the head of Andre, the new vocalist. He is the third vocalist for the band and sounds nothing like Joe or Jason. He sounds like he belongs in a Hatebreed rip-off band. He shouts his way through every song like its hardcore and doesn't even really attempt to sound like the two previous singers. While its always good when a new singer joins a band and tries to bring his own style & identity to the band, but this just has bad results. The music itself is damn good on this cd, but thats another problem for me. It is TOO good, which to me says there were studio overdubs. The music is great for the first 7 or so tracks, then suddenly the songs are slower than they should be, and the band just seems off. Then it picks up again. Oh yea, I guess I failed to mention that Andre even "raps" a bit during some songs. YUCK. The best thing that could be said is that during some songs, they actually sound ok, but its not maintained at all, as this only lasts for a bit, before the music suffers or Andre ruins the song.

Overall the music is pretty good, but its not different at all from cds and at times is worse than the cds. Combine this with hardcorish vocals that don't fit and you have one lame cd.
