Don’t let anyone tell you who you can’t fuck.
Do whatever you want, with whoever you want!
There’s nothing wrong with you, there’s nothing wrong with us.
Embrace your inner slut!
Truer words have not been spoken. Sleazy, slutty, and proud of it too, Pink Mass is one hell of a grindcore band that hits hard as the crack of a dom's whip. Pink Mass is a fairly new blackened grind/punk band from the neighboring state of New Jersey, and while they've bought not much to the table as of yet with only an EP and a full-length album under their studded and ever-so-tight belts, what they have brought is fantastic.
The album both opens and closes with a synth line very characteristic of a 90's VHS opening, and this is further cemented by the fact that the album opens with what appears to be the sound of a VHS being put into the player! After this very brief nostalgia trip, the listener is hit hard - and I mean hard - with a barrage of fetish laden and absolutely filthy grindcore mixed with black metal a-la Detroit's Shitfucker, complete with pummeling drums, violently fast guitars, and absolutely low-down and dirty vocals. The track "Symbol of Eight Dicks" stood out to me in particular with it's very punky opening riff, and it's immediate descent into the screamed vocals.
This album is an absolute gem from a fantastic band that should be hailed as one of the newest and most promising blackened grind bands out there, and I'm absolutely floored that they're not! Close the door and lock it, turn off the lights and turn on your speakers, strap on your bondage gear and get ready for a brutal domination session courtesy of Pink Mass.
