Oblation - Dead Unborn

Oblation play "Christian" death metal. Much like their peers in Mortification and Living Sacrifice at this time, they took their direction from whatever was most popular in the underground at the time and make a Jesus praising parody of it all. Oblation chose Obituary's The End Complete as their template for forcing leftist, P.C. propaganda down on poor metalheads who are forced to go Sunday school. Much like Mortification told kids talking with the dead using Ouija boards was bad on the liner notes of Scrolls of the Megaloth's Necromanicide, Oblation have no reservation with making an after school special out of morbid, down tuned music.

First, the video. The drummer has a cool haircut. The guitar player wears cool sunglasses. Unfortunately, one of the guys has to ruin everything by having a pedophile moustache. The guitars are cool, a flying V and what looks like a Jackson strat. Then the non-performance stupidity kicks in. We have the caring pregnant woman on the phone, then we cut to an image of a "menacing doctor" at an abortion clinic. Then it cuts to folded arms tough guy poses by the band outside a church or maybe the side of a Wendy's, can't tell. Sometimes images of aborted fetuses pop up. It all adds up to abortion is evil, and god doesn't like that. The music is standard generic death metal like early Benediction playing their slower Obituary styled riffs interrupted by a Harmony Corruption era Napalm Death blasting part in a verse-chorus style loop. That's it. Non-offensive mediocrity made offensive through overt Christian themes. The video ends with the pregnant woman no longer pregnant holding a baby and smiling followed by a message about abortion killing 4000 babies a day. Lame.
