Skeletal Armies Arise - 86%

Written based on this version: 2014, 7" vinyl, Warfare Noise Productions (Limited edition)

Looking for some ripping, raw, violent death-thrash? Look no further than Oath Of Cruelty! Whereas so much re-thrash has left me cold and bored, Oath Of Cruelty take up the banner of the sadly defunct Hypnosia and bring back the psycho-annihilating style of early Kreator circa Pleasure To Kill. You just know these two songs gonna be relentless and barbaric -- and they are! Both the title track and "Skeletal Armies" sound like they are straining against leash, as if the musicians are possessed of a demented desire to out-thrash the world. These songs burst out like two quick cluster bomb attacks: blindingly fast yet chunky riffage, fat clanging bass, and manic double-time drumming with the appropriate complimentary mid-paced pit riffs are laced over with snarling feral vox. Updated production qualities take the sound and feel of '86 and give it the power of now. I was floored by the immediacy of these tracks. When can we get a full-length?
