Nuclear Torment - 8 Bit Death

Some of the most pathetic shit i've heard. - 0%

Satanjeugd, July 4th, 2012

Ok, so here is yet another washed up, extremely superfluous retro thrash outfit singing about humourous stories, old videogames, poser killing, nuclear catastrophes, chemical waste, zombie apocalypses and other nonsensical and retarded topics that often accompanies thrash/crossover bands. The genre itself is probably the one metal genre that is most widely acknowledged for singing about ridiculous childish, silly and unserious topics. They combine that with the occasional mediocre seen-it-before but mandatory 'social commentary' song, about toxins, nuclear plants, radiation and pollution. 'Toxic', 'chemical', 'nuclear', and 'radiation' would be the key words here.

Well, these swedish adolescents might take the prize for obtuseness, if there ever was one, for what we have here is the biggest reeking pile of mediocre, uninspired shit in CD format since St. Anger, if you will; not only the release in itself, but whole band. As a concept, it is astonishingly vile. They have taken an already piss-poor genre, digged out some crossover/thrash LP's from 1988, taken every riff and glued together some halfassed attempts at thrash songs. This is not the whole problem though, far from it. As musical pieces they are very mediocre, but enough uninteresting not to bother about. I would simply not bother. What gets to me is the utterly insipid concept of the band itself; plagiarism of already washed up lyrical and musical concepts was apparently not enough for these dudes, somehow they managed to apply some original ideas to the soup. Original ideas can be a potential fatality. So have I learned.

They are singing about sniper zombies. And grave robbing brown bears. And computer games. And killing emos. And robot unicorns. Yeah, they actually have songs about robotic unicorns. And laser sharks for that matter. God, this is a mess. It is so fucking bad, I can not put words on it. The vocalist sound like every other generic toxothrash vocalist, but a few notches worse. He does not even have the credibility to uphold a decent ripoff. And he bangs his head like a fucking idiot during their live shows.

This is extremely bad. I'll just listen to Pleasure to Kill once again.
