Northern Forest - Alone in Winternacht

Allein in Winternight - 25%

Fulgurius, May 4th, 2011

Another Northern Forest demo with "winter" title. And this time on the cover we can see Kavera himself in Vinterriket t-shirt, which is one more proof that he is a fan of Christoph Ziegler who tries to be like him not only in music, but also in a number of releases (he has made over 50 releases in less than 2 years, and they keep coming).

"Alone in Winternacht" consists of two tracks, and the first one, after short ambient introduction, suddenly turns into black metal with computer drums and primitive riffs that could have been played by anyone who has just taken guitar in his hands for the first time. And vocals were obviously recorded with the same shitty microphone that was used on the other Northern Forest demos… The second track is a bit more digestible. It's an attempt to make space ambient with a likeliness of simplistic melody alternating with droning soundscapes.

So, once again, on this demo Kavera shows that, while his ambient is not the worst thing in existence, his black metal efforts are pretty useless.
