Nekrofilth - Devil's Breath

Pure anger, hate, and lust - 100%

vtash666, September 10th, 2017

Nekrofilth has always been a band that I have heard of but never listened to until a year or two ago. Devil's Breath was played from start to finish and all I could do was listen to this album over and over again. What I love is how the very first song, "Crave the Grave" starts right off with simple, yet crushing riffs and drumming. There is no intro, no ambient or acoustic crap in the beginning, just straight forward metal punk. And this can be said throughout the whole album.

The best thing about "Devil's Breath" and Nekrofilth in general as a band, is that they keep everything simple. Heavy, catchy, angry, and lust throughout the whole album. No crazy "showing off" solos, or boring parts to any song. Nekrofilth keeps everything short, sweet, and to the point in the sense of song writing on this album. Each song has their own catchy part to it, and what I like is how each song has an amazing break to headbang, circle pit, mosh, air drum, or drive on the open road to.

The reason the review title is pure anger, hate, and lust, is because, overall at the end of listening to "Devil's Breath", that is exactly how you will feel, all at the same time. Just don't take them too literally. Additional positives on the album includes the recording quality, which makes everything sound loud and clear without the extreme over production.

Best tracks : Crave the Grave, Wormskull, Junkie Cunt

Negatives: None, this album gets 100% from me.

Easily one of the best metal/punk releases within the last few years. Super excited on what they come out with next.
