There are, despite everything, some valid reasons to be proud of being Italian. Like art, food, language, natural landscapes ... and maybe even metal bands. Especially the parodic ones.

And when the kings of the last category, Nanowar of Steel and gli Atroci, decide to unite, the result can only be exhilarating.

Sottosegretari alla presidenza della Repubblica del Truemetal is above all appreciable from the musical point of view. At first glance, ignoring the words, it could very well be a very classic heavy/power metal song: continuous rides, Manowar-style choirs, extremely catchy refrain. A good piece, normally enjoyable.

However, the text definitely raises the bar.

The program represented is an effective satire against the disastrous Italian politics, and at the same time it stages several funny jokes about metal, and it is practically impossible not to let out a laugh. Especially considering the contrast between the epic nature of music and voices and what they are actually saying.

The problem is one would have to know quite a lot of things about Italian language and politics to fully understand it. For the ones who do have enough knowledge, however, its humour is just perfect.
