Czech metal scene (and I really don't talk about the fucking pop scene) is full of young and talented bands. Czech label Redblack is one of the reason why Czech metal scene still lives. Memoria is one of their bands - let's have a look on their last album.
Even though their history is quite interesting, I have to stop talking about it (you can read something in their profile). This review is about music. And what's the music like? I have to say that it's great. Big surprise in my eyes.
Memoria plays modern rock/metal with keyboards, violins and great vocal by Andrea Baslova. It may look like common "gothic" band but it's not. They music is specific and original. Full of melancholic melodies. This melodies make their music so great. It't quite difficult to describe it more, because I don't know any other similar band. The best song is the last one - I haven't hear so great melody for a long time.
But their music has even some disadvantages. The biggest is repetitivness. When you listen to first few songs you will know what is the rest of the songs like. And the second one are the guitars. Riffs are simple and quite hidden under the keyboard sound.
However, I can recommend this record to those who listen to gothic rock/metal. Enjoy it!
