A classic thrash album with a classic thrash sound. Think of Overkill, though slightly more power-metallish. Triplets are evident, more in the vein of Shah than Iced Earth, and of course a general catchiness a la Laaz Rockit or other staples of the power-thrash genre.
Highlights... well, just about all of them, because the great thing is, the songs are pretty damn long, but they never get too long. There's the seven minute banger Warriors in the Night, or the slightly faster The Face on the Coin, which has some great fucking soloing... though maybe the real highlight is the heaviest song on here: Living From the Pain. That one has a real crushing riff section for about two minutes, reminding me almost of a Vio-lence "T.D.S." meeting Agent Orange era Sodom, though somewhat faster with a more Overkill guitar sound
The guitar tone is pretty much average 80s production - don't tell anyone that the album came out in 1992! At times it reminds me of late-Bobby-G-era Overkill, especially with how the bass comes in too. Years of Decay isn't that bad of a comparison overall, though the songs aren't nearly as progressive - much more riff-centred, without a single acoustic interlude to be found on the whole album, and only one little intro (Desert Rats). The vox are not the classic Blitz-style, but rather more ordinary, though of course quite competent. Lots of gang vocals, the usual thrash staple.
If you like it fast, and you like it loud, you'll like this one. Lots of solos, and even more riffs. If you like that special Overkill guitar/bass sound, this one's especially for you.
