Krypteria's best single ever! - 100%

Daniel_2007_Pendulum, March 29th, 2008

"Victoriam Speramus" is definitely a song that has gained a place in the history of metal music, and one of the best songs I've ever listened to. It was a perfect choice for a single and a video, and it's appropiate to be the band's lead song (until a better song is released, of course).

First, let's talk about the song, and the three versions of it that were released on this single, all of them are different from the one that's included on the album "In Medias Res", in both length and certain arrangements. This makes a total of four different versions of one song: the Original Version (included in the album but does not appear in the single), the Radio Edit, the Dawn Version (the shortest) and the Full Version (the longest and the most interesting).
But now, talking about the song, it's absolutely clear that a song like "Victoriam Speramus" requires a lot of talent and skill to be created and performed, not only due to the complex orchestral arrangements that are the main element of the song but also to the chorus written in a language that is rarely used nowadays for composing, even in music: Latin! A brilliant idea, isn't it? It not only gives harmony to the strings, it also makes this song original.

The single also includes a song that is also included in the album "In Medias Res": "Why". I really like this song, it's one of the best of the album. It's excellent, but of course not as excellent as "Victoriam Speramus".

CONCLUSION: All fans of symphonic metal must surely love this single. It's excellent, all the songs are good. So, if you can, look for this single and buy it, you'll never stop listening to it.
