Germany‘s Kreuziger presents an unembellished and relentless black metal demo titled “Fesseln der Verdichtung” which the band have released back in 2017. Pressed with a limited amount of only 200 copies under the banner of Bolivia‘s Rawblackult Productions, this 2017 seven-track demo runs in 23 minutes of unconcealed and unremitting black metal music with utter intensity and unsophisticated aurora at its interior. Yeap, this material is an uncompromising piece of black metal that makes no apologies for its abrasive and confrontational approach.

The offering provides the listeners a maelstrom of pugnacious guitar sections with some feisty and in-your-face riffs, a lashing-out drum department, and an ear-piercing vocal conveyance that, when blended together, creates some of the most terrifying and strifing ambience in the black metal underground. These distinctive riffs are somewhat tight and they were designed to provoke and push the confines of auditory belligerence. They’re not just straight up heavy; they’re sharp, cutting through the mix with a ferocity that leaves no room for subtlety.

The drumming execution of the man behind the kit is a key factor in this chaotic symphony too. See, it don’t just keep time because it also attacks, and it drives the music forward with a relentless pace that feels almost merciless. There is a sheer savagery in the drum section that matches the guitar work, a sense that the percussion is there to pummel the listener into submission. It’s a percussive salvo that is both precise and brutal, and it ensures that the intensity never lets up, not even for a moment.

Then we head over to the vocal section where it is conveyed with a piercing shriek that it resembles of an axe cutting through the wall of sound. That alone already adds another layer of unease to the already hostile environment. The vocal delivery in this release is not about the melody or harmony, as it is more about the raw emotion and primal scream that incorporates the dark themes running through the demo. It is clearly not the type of music for the faint of heart, as it’s the type of music that seeks to unsettle and to provoke a visceral reaction.
