This is really fast slam, and it's really stupid. In a good way.

The drumming is really well done here, really fast, definitely the most stand out part of the album. The snares are totally nasty and sound like a block of wood - the kind of nastiness you want on slam. Riffs are mostly faster slams, with some breakdowns and slower parts here and there. There's a sparing use of pinch harmonics and dissonant chords, they don't come very often but it keeps the songs they are used on unique. Vocals are mostly a low gurgle with a decent amount of inhale screams, I'd say a 70-30 split on the two styles of vocals. The inhales are actually good though and fit the ferocity of the music, emphasizing the fastest portions of the album, instead of just being annoying like The Anomalies of Artificial Origin.

Everything about this is so over the top - the headsmashing drums, the art, the long and ridiculous song titles, everything. It's like a performance art of brutality. It doesn't feel cheesy or jokey though, it's just enjoyable crazy-ass slam.

My favorite tracks are probably the opening track, blasting in with those snare drums from hell right away showing you what the album is about, and 'Erected Phallus' which is also one of the fastest-tempo songs here. Other unique tracks are 'Grandfather' and 'Sexy Goat', both of which have an interesting dissonant riff at the beginning and then as the tracks progress they become slower, giving the listener a break to catch their breath. For people who like slow and crunchy slams, those two tracks are for you.

Production is fairly lofi, I would compare it to the production of Planisphaerium by Wormed or Supreme Entity by Vomit Remnants. The guitars are a little fuzzy and the the drums like I said are a freaking block of wood to crush your skull.

The very last thing you hear is a clip saying "this is sick... and we want it." which is the perfect endnote for the whole album. It's nasty and ridiculous and so damn good. The only thing stopping me from giving 100% is the length, at only 22 minutes. Yes, heavy slam albums are usually under 30 minutes, but I really want at least 25-26, I feel like they should have added at least one more song to flesh it out. Still, it's worth the purchase.

An ultra good slab of death metal! - 94%

One day I wanted to check out a band from Estonia and I figured Hymenotomy would be cool. What a brutal slab of death metal! They play ultra fast with brutal breakdowns. I must say the drummer and vocalist is probably the most talented band member. Vocalizing and drumming in a brutal death metal band is not easy. I wouldn’t be able to play fast as fuck drumming with blast beats and vocalizing at the same time. I’m guessing he recorded his drum tracks first and then he laid down his vocal tracks later. He has to vocalize and drum live though and that is probably really difficult. No wonder why they are a studio project only!

The drummer has a unique and powerful sounding snare drum. It has a really rich and thick sound. That wicked sounding snare drum is present on all of the tracks. I love the moments where he rapidly hits the snare drum. He is an expert at brutal drumming. He knows how to execute brutal and precise beats. He does really crazy blast on all of the songs and I can tell you that the drumming is not in 4/4. He really showcases his skills on Shitting The Rotten Entrails And Wormed Organs In A Public Bathroom. He drums ultra fast on that song and it sounds like Devourment on steroids. The drummer’s vocals are guttural and he doesn’t vocalize any lyrics at all. In my own words, his vocals are really filthy, grimy and disgusting. They are like that on all of the songs. His vocals are incredible on all of the songs.

The songs have really funny and ridiculous song titles. Don’t assume they suck, they’re actually quite impressive. Some bands have song titles like that, but then they really suck. Not this band! The guitarist is pretty proficient and he has some killer sounding riffs on all of the songs. He churns out some really killer riffs on all of the songs. He also executes some good pinch harmonics whenever they are needed. He doesn’t shred or doing anything like that, but that doesn’t mean he’s bad at all. He can play fast as fuck and he uses amazing guitar distortion.

As for the bass, it really rocks. It sounds like the bassist uses distortion. There’s a little mini bass solo on the track entitled Romantic Rape Fantasy About Pegging Your Grandfather With a Strap-on Knife Dildo. The bass really sounds excellent on the song Erected Phallus Gets Fingered By Two Horny Whores. He knows how to keep up with the brutal and fast drumming.

This album features some funny samples. Human Feces Collector has a sample of a guy who is into eating fecal matter and not going on dates, I think that’s hilarious. There’s a really awesome breakdown in that song. It’s one of the most brutal breakdowns I’ve ever listened to in my life. The title track samples South Park and I think that’s cool. That song features one cool pinch harmonic that is really hard to replicate.

You may be wondering about the most ridiculous and funny song entitled Stealing a Young Sexy Goat From an Angry Farmer In Order To Have Sex With It While Unexpected Farmer Mutilates Your Body With a Blunt Machete. The drummer pounds the drums with all of his might on this one and he goes really fast. It’s a really excellent track.

The bottom line about this album is that it’s ultra good. The sad thing is that it’s under 30 minutes. There’s no songs that clock in at 3 minutes. I recommend this to brutal death metal listeners. Anyone who is not into brutal death metal, this is not for you. If you are open-minded, check this out
